press-releases

Quimper, France, April 06, 2021 - Interface Concept, leader in the design and manufacturing of COTS embedded boards and systems, is pleased to introduce the IC-EM2-XMCa, a removable SSD mass storage XMC module equipped with one M.2 site.

This XMC card is the first in the embedded market to feature a front sliding drawer, allowing tomount, replace or upgrade an M.2 NVMe Solid-State Drive (SSD) mass storage unit. The drawer can be simply and easily opened from the front panel after unfastening two screws.

The IC-EM2-XMCa is suited for the compute and storage-intensive applications of the industrial, military or aerospace markets. This XMC storage solution can be used to add mass storage capacity to any Interface Concept or third party Single Board Computer (SBC) or any host carrier board, used in a VPX, VME or cPCI system. Connected to the host board via a PCIe x1/x2/x4 Gen2/Gen3 interface, the IC-EM2-XMCa board increases storage capacity by up to 2TB. The IC-EM2-XMCa supports the latest NVME eSSD storage devices including types 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280. The board is designed and qualified to run in an air-cooled environment.
