Description
The VMEbus interface of the IC-PMC-VMEa
is based on a combination of the Tundra Tsi148 VME bridge and the latest
generation of Texas Instrument VMEbus transceivers. This design allows
the switching speed required by the 2eSST protocol on all the backplane
slots.
The IC-PMC-VMEa provides a 320MB/s
transfer rate across the VMEbus. Moreover the backward compatibility
protects existing customer investments.
IC-PMC-VMEa is ideal for VME-based Single
Board Computer with a PCI/X local bus, the PrPMC slot permits to
implement a local processor, the second PMC slot remaining available for
extension. IC-PMC-VMEa can also be used to build high performance VME
I/O board with two PMC extension slots.
The local PCI bus between the VME bridge,
the two PMC slots and the on-board FPGA can operate following multiple
modes : PCI 33/66MHz or PCI-X up to 100MHz with a 32-bit or 64-bit width.
The local FPGA is available for customer's application with IO usable on
P2 or adapted through a specific mezzanine board.
Optionally a 500MHZ RapidIO 8-bit
parallel bus connects the two PMC slots. In this configuration, two XMC
cards can be installed on the carrier. For instance an high-performance
VME64x SBC can be carried out with the implementation of two PrPMC
IC-PQ3-PMCx on the IC-PMC-VMEa, each PowerQuiccIII running independently
LINUX.
